What does Talisker whisky taste like? This Diageo Special Release 2013 Talisker 27 Years Old 1985 56.1% bottling tastes like:
Nose: pleasant fierce and fumey peat, soy sauce umami
Palate: savoury coastal saline, thick sourish honey, potent well fleshed out vegetal peat
What do we think of this bottle of Talisker whisky?
Personally, a fantastic dram of Talisker with all the true blue Talisker characteristics, although showing much more older distillate character. This time, the peat was not characteristically light, which we normally find in recent Taliskers. I’ve received some remarks that this dram was a bit off, which could have been from the bottle being opened for quite a while.
