Review – Lochside 1967 49 Year Old The Cooper’s Choice

Looking to drink Lochside whisky in Singapore? This dram of Lochside 1967 49 Year Old The Cooper’s Choice was drank at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830. This was unpriced for the longest time, and is quite possible one of the oldest bottles of whisky I’ve had the privilege of drinking up to date. Naturally low cask strength, but this one is exceptional.

Nose: sweet paint thinner, sickly fruits, almost like molasses thick sweetness, lightly mentholic

Palate: insanely sour, deeply fruity, sickly fruits translates well, like Jian Shun said, ripe banana peels with a somewhat tannic and sour finish

One that has been on my bucket list for a while, this Lochside surpassed any imagination that I could muster on the flavour. Truly diverse profile that is well fronted on the sweet end, with impressive notes from the barrel and distillate.

Note: Jian Shun is a friend of Edward
