Looking to drink St James whisky in Singapore? This dram of St James’s 12 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky was sampled during my visits to the now-closed Samsu Huay Kuan, located at 100 Orchard Rd, #02-33 Concorde Hotel & Shopping Mall, Singapore 238840. Do check out the listings on INTERCO-MLE for if you are interested in some of the bottles that were at Samsu!
Nose: light old bottle effect (OBE) and mild ‘pure malt’ apple fruitiness
Palate: light and soft red apples, lightly unripe sourness, touch of grapiness, light mineralicity and malty breadiness, long, light tea leaves-like bitterish dry finish
A wonderful old blended Scotch that hits well close to home with other old pure malts (which are basically blended malts)
