Review – Signatory Vintage Mortlach 8 Years Old 2012 59.9% Small Batch Edition CS #1

Looking to drink Mortlach whisky in Singapore? This sample of Signatory Vintage Mortlach 8 Years Old 2012 59.9% Small Batch Edition CS #1 was drunk at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830This bottle was available during a private Bring Your Own Bottle tasting event.

Nose: sweet floral, white pepper spicy

Palate: liang teh bitters, light mentholic and peppery, sweet and mellow

While I expected the sweet and spicy, I did not expect a medicinal profile to come blended into this Mortlach. Quite a surprise, and a welcome one at that, as it rounds off the general two-tone profile with something more complex to think about. Could do with more clarity in the sweetness though, its long and slow.
