Review – Master of Malt Armorik 2011 7 Year Old French Oak

Looking to drink Armorik whisky in Singapore? This sample of Master of Malt Armorik 2011 7 Year Old French Oak was sampled during a private Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) event at The Single Cask located at 30 Victoria Street Caldwell House, CHIJMES, #01-25, 187996.

Nose: lightly sherry grapey,

Palate: nice straight sour apples with an overwhelming iron-taste towards the finish

Jumps in the nose and palate. While having a dominantly sherry grape nose in spite of the french oak butt cask, similar to OB Glenfiddich 15, the palate does provide a shocker; great apples, with a good pleasant sour candy touch. However, a potent but not too repulsive iron taste is present, which makes me wonder exactly how they got it in. Overall, pretty nice first experience with a French whisky.
