Review – Gordon and MacPhail Imperial Reserve 1995

Looking to drink Imperial whisky in Singapore? The final drops of this Gordon and MacPhail Imperial Reserve 1995, Bottled in 2013 was drank at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830

Nose: from the last drops, intense but thin, light fruity apple notes

Palate: concentrated sour fruits, mango and apple

My first time trying an Imperial, this one had a misleading note which came across as rather light, but was intense and flavourful on the palate. A shame that I could not have tried a full dram of this.

On June 14, I had the great fortune of sampling this bottle once again, except this time from a top pour.

Nose: creamy apple strudel,

Palate: richly intense and sour green apples, with a crust of cream and bread around it

The sweet and sour apple notes were much more exemplified now that I wasn’t working with just the dredges of the bottle. A beautifully fruity Imperial it was.
