Review – Diageo Special Release 2023 Oban 11 Years Old – The Soul of Calypso

Drink Oban whisky in Singapore

Looking to drink Oban whisky in Singapore? This sample of Diageo Special Release 2023 Oban 11 Years Old – The Soul of Calypso was drunk at The Single Cask located at 30 Victoria Street Caldwell House, CHIJMES, #01-25, 187996.

What does Oban whisky taste like? This Diageo Special Release 2023 Oban 11 Years Old – The Soul of Calypso bottling tastes like:

Nose: musty, light honey

Palate: thick and juicy, thin sour barbs in the back of a musty, lightly waxy distillate with prominent honey notes. Dry.

What do we think of this bottle of Oban whisky?

Honestly, quite authentic to the Oban flavoured profiles I’ve had so far. Generally honey sweet, although this one, I feel, falls short of the thicker juicier flavours that I had previously with the Oban 21 Limited Edition 2013 Special Release.

Where can you get Oban whisky by the glass in Singapore?

You can buy Oban whisky by the dram from The Swan Song, like the bottle pictured above or the Oban 21 Limited Edition 2013 Special Release.

Serge from WhiskyFun rated this bottle a firm 85 points, which we think is fitting as his review elucidates more flavours of salty tones and the rum cask finish.
