The Single Cask (TSC) is an independent bottler and whisky bar currently operating at CHIJMES.
I was introduced to The Single Cask by friends, who were visiting to peruse one of the sales; on 1st September 2023, they had an anniversary sale that I visited in order to pursue my then-addiction (read: inquisitive search) for Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry cask whiskies. They had a fantastic assortment of bottles finished in PX, so I wanted to check those out and acquire a bottle for myself.
Cask strength bottlings, amazing prices, fantastic selections.
Aside from that, TSC holds several events across the year. Many of these events are tasting events, such as the one they held for Chandrakant, Founder of Mizunara The Shop.
Aside from that, TSC did a chocolate tasting event that helped with the conceptualization of the initial Nakama Spirits Pairing Events and Services, which was in collaboration with Fossa Chocolates. Really good whiskies and chocolates work wonders together.
Overall, TSC has an exceptional collection of whiskies, of a wide variety of vintages and distilleries. There are many more things uncaptured with a lens, but its a fantastic place to explore whiskies and have a great conversation. The location presently may be a little small, but the future may hold greater things.
