Review – Master of Malt Dufftown 40 Years Old 1978 47.5%

Drink Dufftown whisky in Malaysia

Looking to drink Dufftown whisky in Singapore? This sample of Master of Malt Dufftown 40 Years Old 1978 47.5% was drunk during the inaugural Whisky Lah! whisky festival held at The Gasket Alley located at Lot 15, Jalan 13/6, Section 13, 46200, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia on 7 September 2024.

What does Dufftown whisky taste like? This Master of Malt Dufftown 40 Years Old 1978 47.5% bottling tastes like:

Nose: dusty, oaky, rustic, walnutty

Palate: iron rustic and rich sweet oak wood, metallic juiciness

What do we think of this bottle of Dufftown whisky?

Reminds me of sucking on a stainless steel metallic ruler when I was younger, this one has an addictive iron-y taste that keeps me coming back. Definitely an interesting dram, metal flavours normally are a turnoff but this one keeps me going as a Singleton glazer. Quite a fantastic dram at a good price. As a side note, as the first paying customer into Whisky Lah, this was the first dram that was bought, preceding even the prized Convalmores that were around. As Singapore’s biggest Singleton wanker getting this was the priority.

Where can you get Dufftown whisky by the glass in Singapore?

You can buy Dufftown whisky by the dram from The Swan Song, typically older pure malts (finished at the time of writing this but reviews on past ones will be up soon).
