Review – Elixir Distillers Glenallachie 25 Years Old 57.9% 1995

Looking to drink Glenallachie whisky in Singapore? This sample of Elixir Distillers Glenallachie 25 Years 57.9%Old 1995 was drunk at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830.

Nose: sweet honey, slight candied sugary walnuts, strong pervasive caramel tones

Palate: juicy sugary green apples with distinct sour candy notes, rich, dry and tannic, incredibly full bodied amd waxy

This is the first independently bottled Glenallachie I’ve tried and it blew me away. Completely different from the modern Core Range Glenallachies from Billy Walker, those were light and playful, this one is intense and deep, rich with clear flavours and textures that dance on the tongue. If the modern ones are a poor tease, this one is a night-long experience.
