Review – Milk and Honey La Maison Du Whisky 2019 Peated Cask Finish

Looking to drink Milk and Honey whisky in Singapore? This sample of Milk and Honey La Maison Du Whisky 2019 Peated Cask Finish was sampled during a private Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) event at The Single Cask located at 30 Victoria Street Caldwell House, CHIJMES, #01-25, 187996. This bottle is however owned by Nakama Spirits and is available while stocks last at at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830

Nose: young sharp and minty

Palate: light and pleasant, minty and mentholic

On a second nose,

Nose: young and sharp, but this time with a touch of sour fruits to complement the fierce spearminty-ness of it. Very liquorice.

Palate: definitely a lot juicier, touch of mango, more pineapple, very burny and mentholic, but still pleasant. At times, drops a bourbonish caramel note with a stronger, woody walnut nuttiness

This was obtained from auction and it was actually intended for private resale. However, since it was a BYOB event, this was one of the available bottles that I had on-hand that could be used. Not too shabby, but the youthfulness of the liquor really shows through. Sampling this towards the end of probably 18 whiskies considerably dulled the subtle notes that were hidden in the drink. However, for a peated cask finish, the peat was unfortunately absent; it would have made it more complex.
