Review – Port Charlotte 2008 SMWS 127.46 Trawlers, tractors and tremendous smoke

Looking to drink Port Charlotte whisky in Singapore? This sample of Port Charlotte 2008 SMWS 127.46 Trawlers, tractors and tremendous smoke was sampled during a private Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) event at The Single Cask located at 30 Victoria Street Caldwell House, CHIJMES, #01-25, 187996.

Nose: salty roasted ribs and meat, salted vegetables and seaweed

Palate: sweet green vegetables, seaweed lightly salty peat

I’m not gonna lie; I did not know that distillery code 127 was Port Charlotte. I mean, since it’s Bruichladdich’s Heavily peated series, I did not expect SMWS to have it as a separate code. This was amazing. This was everything you could want in a Chinese-Western fusion meal with meat and salted vegetables, but in liquid form. Outstanding dram, thanks Ezra.
