What does Tomatin whisky taste like? This Tomatin 16 Years Old Moscatel Cask bottling tastes like:
Nose: rotten egg, sulfite, spoilt sugary orange candy that was left in a pocket for 2 days
Palate: stale orangina with alcohol notes, with a mild spicy mentholic note. More tangerine on the aftertaste
What do we think of this bottle of Glen Grant whisky?
This Tomatin is wild. I’m not a big fan of barley and moscatel sulphites, so this one murdered me on the nose. The orange flavour is truly quite interesting though – it honestly is quite particular, does not hold a sulphite palate, and have complexity in the kind of orangey citrus. Worth a drink, but the nose is for the funk lovers.

This was done in a blind tasting format so the customer did not know the bottle beforehand.
Nose: Strong alcohol burn, sweet and sharp sour, like pineapple (puke)
Palate: Strong sharp smoky start, tannic notes after, with a malty tannic finish that lingers for long
