Review – Scott’s Selection Glenlivet 35 Years Old 1971 55%

Drink Glenlivet whisky in Malaysia

Looking to drink Glenlivet whisky in Singapore? This sample of Scott’s Selection Glenlivet 35 Years Old 1971 55% was drunk during the inaugural Whisky Lah! whisky festival held at The Gasket Alley located at Lot 15, Jalan 13/6, Section 13, 46200, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia on 7 September 2024.

What does Glenlivet whisky taste like? This Scott’s Selection Glenlivet 35 Years Old 1971 55% bottling tastes like:

Nose: supremely sweet and malty with a clear distinct layer of wild honey, clear thin old whisky distillate feel

Palate: light delicate honey with clear sugary syrup layers on top; like licking a lollipop

What do we think of this bottle of Glenlivet whisky?

This is arguably the best expression of a malty profile that I have ever tasted in my life, with a fantastic amount of sugariness that is well balanced against the oak profile and general malt. Scott’s Selection old bottlings have been absolute bangers and this is more proof to the pudding for it.
