What does Aultmore whisky taste like? This Scotch Malt Whisky Society 73.81 “Dark chocolate destiny” Aultmore 14 Years Old 2002 59.8% bottling tastes like:
Nose: sour mangoes, passiomfruit, extremely fumey, persimmon
Palate: tart but acrid rubber and apples, farmy sour, thick and hazy in texture, bit of dark chocolate malt on the finish
What do we think of this bottle of Aultmore whisky?
Ah a whisky that chooses violence. This one is obnoxious on the nose, making it hard to tease out profiles. While we feel that SMWS does normally hit the nail on the head regarding the palate and names, this one hardly draws out any chocolate and instead hits more on the juicy farmy sour notes instead.
