Review – Old Cutty Sark, est. 1980s

Looking to drink Cutty Sark whisky in Singapore? Cutty Sark is a common blend that can be found on online retailers; this Cutty Sark was dug out by my friend from Cash Converter! This sample of old Cutty Sark, est. 1980s was sampled during my visits to the now-closed Samsu Huay Kuan, located at 100 Orchard Rd, #02-33 Concorde Hotel & Shopping Mall, Singapore 238840. Do check out the listings on INTERCO-MLE for if you are interested in some of the bottles that were at Samsu!

Nose: Old bottle effect (OBE), light apples and mango fruitiness, light orange peel oils

Palate: burny, distillate light grapiness, oldish whisky pure malt apples

Honestly, the fruitiness is present as is characteristic of older distillates, this is a blend that was said to contain a larger proportion of North British grain whisky. I think the staleness of the spirit was quite prevalent which really put a downer on the spirit. However, not too disappointing a blend.
