Review – Malt Grain Cane Irish 2002, 53.1 %, 21 YO, Port Cask

Looking to drink Irish whiskey in Singapore? This sample of Malt Grain Cane’s Irish 21 Year Old Port Cask was drank at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830. Other Malt Grain Cane bottlings are available by the dram at The Swan Song

Nose: distinctly lightly sweet with dried raisins, a tinge of sour farmy cream and seasoned spice

Palate: full bodied and deliciously fruity, good touch of grapes and raisins, plant bark oaky flavours that play with a drying tannic nature, ending with a long, mildly spicy finish

Extremely delightful for an Irish Cask Strength whiskey, one of the few that I can wholeheartedly endorse. The port cask provides an interesting fruity twist to the spirit, which was expected to be rather thin or light bodied but surprisingly came out to be rather full bodied and enjoyable.

This is not sponsored and with limited bottles available, it can be bought from Malt Grain Cane at: https://www.maltgraincane.com/collections/shop/products/018-irish-2002-53-1-21-yo-port-cask
