Review – Hidden Spirits Ben Nevis 2006 12 Year Old Heavily Peated Sherry Cask

Looking to drink Ben Nevis whisky in Singapore? This sample of Hidden Spirits Ben Nevis 2006 12 Year Old Heavily Peated Sherry Cask was sampled during a private Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) event at The Single Cask located at 30 Victoria Street Caldwell House, CHIJMES, #01-25, 187996.

Nose: nice clean well sherried nose

Palate: short lasting sherry with a quick plastic wall that comes up

😮 … was this heavily peated, I did not realise. However, the plasticky palate makes for a somewhat awkward drink that is better on the nose than it is the palate. The Caol Ila 6 Year Old by Hidden Spirits is much more well balanced in my honest opinion.
