Review – Balvenie Founders Reserve, Estimated 1980s, Cognac Bottle

Looking to drink Balvenie whisky in Singapore? This Balvenie Founders Reserve miniature, estimated to be bottled in 1980s, with an old label and Cognac shaped bottle was sampled at The Swan Song located at 41A Boat Quay, Singapore 049830

Nose: fierce sweet spiced warm honey

Palate: strong warm leathery notes with a good sweet honey base

Extremely surprising from a 40% abv Balvenie, which I did not have a generally impressive opinion on. This old bottle got me to change my mind immediately, and those who tried it that night were very much impressed. This was a bottle I got from my second time participating in whisky auctions.
