Review – Amrut Triparva Triple Distilled

Looking to drink Amrut Indian whisky in Singapore? This sample of Amrut Triparva Triple Distilled was drank at CellarFiesta held at Suntec Convention Center from 12-14 July 2024. CellarFiesta is organized by CellarbrationThis bottle was introduced by La Maison du Whisky.

Nose: sharp fierce nutty

Palate: lemon peels, viney grape, slight bitter tea leaves

While the nose leaves much to be desired (possibly because I jammed it in there), the palate reveals a complex, deep profile that leaves me wondering about whether to call it grassy or fruity. More on the bitterish side, it has quite a character. Speaking of characters, I wonder if the etymology of the name Triparva has to deal with modern depictions of the Goddess Parvati and her use of a trishula or three pointed spear.
