Macallan – The Heart of the Spirit Experience Singapore
We’ve recently had the good fortune of paying a visit to the Macallan – The Heart of the Spirit Experience at The Warehouses, Clarke Quay.

The Macallan Time : Space
Macallan is one of the most popular whiskies not just in Singapore, but worldwide. It is a name associated with prestige and decadent whisky. This year, they celebrate their 200th Anniversary with the release of a legendary bottling, the Macallan Time : Space.
The Macallan Time : Space features an exceptionally rare 1940 vintage and bottled in 2024. The distillate has been matured for over eight decades, at 84 years old, it is the oldest whisky ever released by The Macallan. Paired with this is the inaugural whisky from the Macallan distillery which opened in 2018, a young and sprightly 2018 vintage, bottled in 2024 and representing the future of the Macallan range.
The bottle for TIME : SPACE features a ground-breaking dual chamber where the two paired whiskies form the heart of the piece, and quote unquote, brings “to life stylistically with the idea of time travel in a retro futuristic way.” Needless to say, as a 200th anniversary bottling, only 200 are in existence and the 1st bottle is pictured in the header picture!
The Experience itself
The Heart of The Spirit experience features an immersive digital experience that combines animation, sound design and specialist projection techniques with paired tastings that took us on a voyage through time.
This digital experience granted us a ‘visit’ into Macallan’s history and allowed us to catch a glimpse at their future, and travel between the two. The sensorial environment was created using animation, sound, lighting and projection to share the many Macallan stories within their dedicated space. Without any strobe lighting or wearable accessories, the immersive digital element of the experience lasted around 20 minutes. During this 20 minutes, we were accompanied by a dram of whisky to complement the sensory experience with.

The Macallan 18 Years Old 2023 Release
We enjoyed a dram of The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old and sat back to enjoy the “time travelling digital experience” that brought to life the characters, places and great moments that have made The Macallan what it is today.
The Macallan 18 Years Old 2023 Release Tasting Notes
Nose: light fumes, moscatelish sulphites, cherry tart, dry earthy-water notes
Palate: light, dry grapey sherry that grows into a slightly fiercer, more prominently sweet raisin profile
All in all, one could describe this modern bottling as rather light, compared to bottlings of the past, such as this 1994 distillation of the Macallan 18 Years Old.
